This opportunity calls for a skilled Staff Pharmacist with expertise in Epic and Meditech systems to support a healthcare facility transitioning their EMR from Meditech to Epic. The role involves rotating shifts with responsibilities critical to patient safety and medication management.

Location: Silt, CO
Type: Contract (assignment projected through August 15, 2026; start ASAP)
Schedule:

  • Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours/week
  • Start times at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday – Friday
  • Rotating weekends, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders as per physician requests, maintaining strict accuracy.
  • Manage medication stock in patient care areas to ensure availability and safety.
  • Interpret and transcribe medication orders into computerized profiles.
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding medication handling and controlled substances.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications and recommend adjustments.
  • Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and antibiotic appropriateness reviews.
  • Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
  • Provide clinical consultation, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives, and drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and staff education.
  • Serve as a member of the Code Response Team.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado Pharmacy License in good standing.
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS degree.
  • Experience with Epic is required; Meditech knowledge advantageous.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
  • Mandatory flu vaccine compliance (Oct 1 – Apr 1, no exemptions).
