A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with compounding experience to fill an immediate opening on a contract-to-hire basis. This opportunity involves working in a fast-paced environment producing primarily non-sterile and some sterile compounded medications for animal patients. The pharmacy ships over 200 prescriptions daily, operating with a team of pharmacists and technicians focused on maintaining quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and compound veterinary medications, mainly non-sterile; some sterile compounding included
  • Package, label, and prepare prescriptions accurately for shipment
  • Maintain compounding equipment and workspace in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist pharmacists with daily production workflow and operational needs
  • Ensure adherence to pharmacy procedures and quality assurance standards
  • Keep accurate documentation and manage inventory as required
  • Support a high-volume production setting while maintaining precision and safety standards
  • Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration and/or certification as required by state law
  • Previous compounding pharmacy experience required, with non-sterile compounding proficiency essential
  • Sterile compounding experience strongly preferred
  • PTCB certification preferred but not mandatory
  • Veterinary or animal compounding experience advantageous but not required
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow strict SOPs consistently
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, production-focused work environment
  • Strong work ethic with dependability, adaptability, and a collaborative teamwork attitude

  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, with some flexibility to accommodate fluctuating production volumes
