A healthcare facility with 165 licensed beds and an average daily census of 130 is seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy who will also serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to provide leadership and ensure efficient pharmacy operations. This contract opportunity begins on 8/31/26 and will continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired. The current Director is retiring, and onsite training will be provided to facilitate a smooth transition.
This position requires West Virginia pharmacist licensure and favors candidates with experience in hospital pharmacy practice and Omnicell automation systems. The pharmacy supports a behavioral health specialty, operating with one full-time pharmacist, four per diem pharmacists, and approximately 2.6 full-time equivalent pharmacy technicians. Technicians provide essential assistance in order filling, medication delivery, and inventory management.
Coverage hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities after each shift and on weekends. The order entry system used is HCS, with training provided to new staff. The dress code is business casual, supporting a professional yet approachable work environment.
