This pharmacy leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge for an inpatient acute care facility in South Bay, FL. The position requires a contract commitment starting August 31, covering weekday hours from 8:00 AM to approximately 4:30-5:00 PM until a permanent candidate is hired. Weekend coverage is not needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy operations and staff management, including oversight of three pharmacy technicians, one full-time pharmacist, and four PRN pharmacists
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including The Joint Commission (TJC) preparation and Board of Pharmacy inspections
  • Manage sterile compounding processes, primarily executed by pharmacy technicians
  • Oversee order entry through CPSI and site automation with Omnicell (training provided if needed)
  • Support clinical functions in acute care ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical units
  • Collaborate closely with leadership during a period of staffing transitions and limited on-site support
  • Qualifications:

  • Florida Pharmacist and Consultant licenses are required
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in an inpatient setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of intravenous (IV) therapy procedures and The Joint Commission accreditation requirements
  • Experience with CPSI order entry system and Omnicell automation is preferred but training is available
  • Additional Details:

  • The facility has not had an annual Board of Pharmacy inspection recently and is currently within the TJC survey window
  • Onsite staff will provide comprehensive training and operational support
