Per Diem Pharmacy Technician | Columbus, Indiana

This position offers a flexible per diem schedule in a retail/outpatient hospital pharmacy setting just southeast of Indianapolis. The role provides consistent hours on every schedule, even though it is part-time PRN with shifts approximately 2-3 days every two weeks. Hours are during 1st shift, generally between 9 AM and 7 PM Monday through Friday, with start times from 9 to 11 AM to accommodate your availability.

Key responsibilities include preparing medications under pharmacist supervision, measuring, mixing, counting, labeling, and accurately recording medication dosages. You will manage prescription processing including typing, adjudicating insurance claims, and filing new or refill orders, requiring solid knowledge of insurance policies and claim rejections. Additional duties involve inventory management such as removing expired medications and handling uncollected prescriptions. Customer service is also essential, including cashier operations, answering phones, balancing the register, filing prescriptions, assisting customers with OTC purchases, and managing voicemail communications.

Preferred qualifications include current Indiana Pharmacy Technician licensure and recent experience in a pharmacy technician role. Certification from PTCB is preferred but not required. Familiarity with the PioneerRX system is a plus, though training will be provided. The ideal candidate is a team player who values flexibility and consistent scheduling.
