This role directs pharmacy operations within an acute care hospital setting, overseeing a team to ensure regulatory compliance and quality patient care. The position is based in Nacogdoches, TX, offering a 13-week contract with potential for extension. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative leadership and management of pharmacy staff including clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
  • Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and quality assurance initiatives within the pharmacy department
  • Coordinate and deliver pharmacy in-service training programs
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to support the delivery of quality inpatient care
  • Qualifications:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Texas with active pharmacy license
  • Demonstrated experience managing inpatient hospital pharmacy operations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a multidisciplinary pharmacy team
  • Proficiency with electronic order entry systems such as Cerner or Siemens
  • Familiarity with pharmacy automation technology, specifically Omnicell
  • Environment Details:

  • 141-bed hospital with approx. 35 beds actively in use daily (50% occupancy)
  • Pharmacy staffing includes Director of Pharmacy, one clinical pharmacist, four PRN pharmacists, five full-time certified pharmacy technicians, and three PRN certified pharmacy technicians
