This opportunity is for a Director of Pharmacy who will also serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at an inpatient hospital setting. The role requires a dynamic leader to oversee pharmacy operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide both administrative leadership and direct patient care support. This position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an assignment duration of approximately 13 to 17 weeks.

Responsibilities include managing pharmacy staff and workflow in a busy hospital environment that includes a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), outpatient services, a surgical hospital setting with a busy emergency department (ED), and an infusion center. The Director of Pharmacy will be responsible for sterile compounding duties, staff leadership to stabilize pharmacy operations, and ensuring efficient and safe medication distribution processes.

The pharmacy team consists of 6 pharmacists and 4 technicians in the hospital, with an additional 3 pharmacists and 3 technicians in the infusion center. The electronic medical record used is Meditech, and medication automation technology includes TouchPoint.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Proven experience as Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in inpatient hospital settings
  • Strong background in pharmacy management and leadership, including staff oversight and operational efficiency
  • Expertise in sterile compounding procedures and regulatory compliance
  • Experience working with Meditech order entry systems
  • Active Montana pharmacy license required
  • Ability to manage diverse pharmacy services including infusion and surgical hospital workflows
  • Location: Vaughn, Montana
    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
