Oversee comprehensive pharmaceutical services and lead a dynamic pharmacy team as a Director of Pharmacy based in Yorktown, VA. Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the Pharmacy Department, supervising supervisors and staff to optimize service quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing training, support, and performance feedback to direct reports to foster skill development, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with standards such as Joint Commission, DOH, and Board of Pharmacy.
  • Collaborate on budget recommendations for capital equipment and operational expenses while projecting departmental revenues.
  • Participate actively in hospital committees, meetings, and projects to promote pharmacy service goals.
  • Maintain clear communication of hospital policies relating to pharmacy services and ensure compliance.
  • Establish and maintain systems for authorized prescriber signatures and pharmaceutical supply requisition and dispensing.
  • Perform all duties in line with a Staff Pharmacist to maintain hands-on involvement.

    • Qualifications:

    Minimum

  • Current state licensure as a pharmacist.
  • At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years.
  • Proven ability to efficiently operate pharmacy services within a healthcare organization.

    • Preferred

  • Minimum of one year in a managerial capacity.
