Staff Pharmacist - Dubuque, IA
We are seeking a Retail Pharmacist for a full-time float assignment supporting multiple pharmacy locations across Northeast Iowa.
Assignment Details
Start Date: July 13
Duration: 3 months
Schedule: Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays as needed; Saturdays are half days)
Shift Options:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Software System: McKesson Enterprise
Coverage Locations (Float Role)
Dubuque, IA (primary/high-volume site)
Preston, IA (50 minutes from Dubuque)
Bellevue, IA (30 minutes from Dubuque)
Independence, IA (1 hour 15 minutes from Dubuque)
Monticello, IA (40 minutes from Dubuque)
Work Environment
Dubuque site: ~2,800–3,000 prescriptions/day
Rural sites: ~600 prescriptions/day
Key Responsibilities
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently under pharmacy leadership supervision
Provide patient counseling on medications and therapy regimens
Respond to patient questions, concerns, and service issues in accordance with policy
Maintain controlled substance records and inventory management
Assist with resolving third-party billing and coverage issues
Support workflow across multiple retail pharmacy locations as needed
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Iowa Pharmacist License
Minimum of 1+ year retail pharmacy experience
Comfortable working in high-volume pharmacy environments
Ability to float between multiple sites reliably
Travel Support
If travel is required for coverage between sites, accommodations can be arranged as needed.
