An immediate opportunity is available for a Pharmacist-in-Charge to provide professional pharmacy services in a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital setting. This role requires hands-on pharmacy staffing with leadership responsibilities to ensure safe and effective medication management for patients.

Location: Lewes, DE (working onsite in a rehab hospital environment)

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Pharmacy hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage may be required
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, overseeing pharmacy operations and compliance
  • Provide direct patient care through accurate dispensing and medication counseling
  • Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including one pharmacist and two pharmacy technicians (full-time and PRN)
  • Manage the use of the hospital pharmacy system (Wellsky) and automated Pyxis dispensing technology
  • Perform IV compounding (excluding chemotherapy preparations)
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements for pharmacy practice
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active pharmacist license eligible for Delaware practice
  • Prior experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge preferred
  • Competency with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing (Wellsky, Pyxis)
  • IV compounding skills without chemotherapy compounding experience necessary
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to support a small pharmacy team
  • Ability to manage on-call responsibilities including weekends and after-hours coverage
