A 503A Compounding Pharmacy seeks a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director to lead and oversee the safe, compliant, and efficient management of sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. This role holds full regulatory accountability for compliance with state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards while directing daily pharmacy operations including fulfillment, quality control, environmental monitoring, training, and facility readiness.

Location: Kennett Square, PA
Term: 13-week contract with potential to convert to permanent hire
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Flexible Saturdays as needed
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the legally designated PIC for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses unless otherwise assigned
  • Act as the primary liaison with Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of operational, ownership, facility, or PIC changes
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations including batch record management and production scheduling
  • Lead pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff to maintain operational excellence
  • Drive quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Manage compliance with USP chapters <795>, <797>, <800>, and applicable federal and state regulations
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager in 503A compounding environments
  • Extensive knowledge of USP standards and regulatory requirements specific to sterile and non-sterile compounding
  • Proven expertise in leading audits and navigating regulatory inspections
