A specialty pharmacy is seeking a dynamic Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch and operation of a new closed-door pharmacy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role offers a unique leadership opportunity to shape pharmacy operations from inception through licensure, inspection, and full dispensing.

The position supports two candidate tracks:

  • Track 1 – Remote PIC (Licensing & Startup):

  • Responsible for acting as PIC on the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy application.
  • Manage DEA registration, SOP development, and Board inspection preparation.
  • Work remotely during licensing and startup phases.
  • Must be available for physical presence during Board inspection.
  • Ideally will relocate to Lancaster to transition into a full-time, on-site PIC when the pharmacy opens.
  • Track 2 – Permanent On-Site PIC:

  • Full-time, on-site PIC role commencing at or before the pharmacy launch targeted for October 2026.
  • Responsible for full-time presence once the pharmacy begins dispensing, as required by the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy.
  • Relocation assistance offered for qualified candidates.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing compliance.
  • Lead licensing, regulatory submissions, and Board inspection readiness.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including DEA mandates.
  • Oversee operational workflow, dispensing accuracy, and safety post-launch.
  • Maintain audit readiness and liaise during inspections.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership during all phases of pharmacy startup and scaling.
  • Support potential multi-state licensing efforts as organization growth continues.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required).
  • Prior experience as a PIC or pharmacy leadership role preferred.
  • Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy settings advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience with audits, inspections, or startup environments preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

    Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite (for on-site PIC)
    Start Date: Mid-June target for licensing/startup track; on-site PIC expected by October 2026 launch.
