This role serves as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director at a 503A compounding pharmacy, responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient fulfillment of prescriptions and compounding operations. The PIC holds full regulatory accountability for adherence to state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards while managing daily operations including sterile and non-sterile compounding, quality systems, environmental monitoring, staff training, and facility readiness.

Location: Kennett Square, PA
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Flexible Saturdays, as needed
    Term: 13 Weeks Contract to Potential Hire
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the legally designated PIC for all pharmacy licenses across multiple states when assigned
  • Serve as the primary contact for Boards of Pharmacy, auditors, inspectors, and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements related to operational changes, ownership, facility modifications, or PIC transitions
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations ensuring quality and regulatory compliance
  • Lead pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff
  • Manage batch record creation, review, and approval processes
  • Facilitate production scheduling to meet on-time delivery, maintain inventory accuracy, and plan capacity
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and compliance adherence
  • Qualifications:

  • Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager
  • Comprehensive knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and applicable state and federal 503A regulations
  • Proven experience in leading audits and managing regulatory inspections
