Pharmacist in Charge – Direct Hire Opportunity
Location: Middleburg, FL
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

This role requires a seasoned pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations, focusing on sterile compounding and infusion pharmacy services. The pharmacy supports a low volume of approximately 100 prescriptions daily, including 15-20 chemotherapy preparations, and is staffed by two full-time pharmacists, two full-time technicians, and one weekend pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders with accuracy.

Perform and oversee sterile compounding in strict adherence to USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy standards.

Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations ensuring safety and compliance.

Review medication profiles critically for allergies, interactions, dosing, and compatibility.

Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.

Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including technicians and pharmacists.

Maintain aseptic technique, cleanroom standards, and environmental monitoring.

Oversee quality assurance, regulatory audits, medication safety initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Manage pharmacy inventory, including controlled substances and compounding supplies.

Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs.

Lead staff meetings and ensure adherence to all regulatory and company compliance guidelines.

Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently during all responsibilities.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.

3-5 years’ experience in hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding compliant with USP, DEA, OSHA, and Board regulations.

Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Pharmacy management experience.

Preferably 3-5 years recent experience in home infusion, hospital, or oncology infusion pharmacy.

Ability to thrive in a sterile compounding environment.
