Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Portland, ME

This opportunity involves providing specialized clinical pharmacy support at an ambulatory infusion therapy clinic that focuses on IV and infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. The role requires a skilled pharmacist to deliver expert care on a per diem basis, supporting both patient treatment and pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities: • Evaluate and process physician orders with careful verification of insurance benefits
• Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom practices consistent with USP 797 standards
• Ensure accurate and safe dispensing of medications and infusion supplies
• Maintain comprehensive and compliant patient and pharmacy records according to federal and state regulations
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain seamless pharmacy operations
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacy coverage as needed

Qualifications and Experience:
• Active Maine Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum of 1+ year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in infusion therapy and sterile compounding, with strong knowledge of USP 797 standards
• Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills

Schedule / Hours:
• Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Additional ongoing PRN shifts available as needed
