Per Diem Clinical Pharmacist in Lucerne Valley, CA
A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available in Lucerne Valley, CA, offering a per diem position with a full-time schedule. This role primarily operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities during weekends and after-hours, although call-ins are rare.
Responsibilities include verifying and reviewing medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety. The pharmacist will compound sterile medications such as IV admixtures and unit dose medications, excluding chemotherapy or hazardous drugs. Participation in responding to emergency room codes may be required. Maintaining compliance with hospital policies, as well as state and federal regulations, including sterile compounding standards when applicable, is essential. Additional duties involve monitoring patients’ medication therapy and providing clinical recommendations to healthcare providers and potentially filling Pyxis machines at local family health centers.
