A growing 503A compounding pharmacy in Tempe, AZ is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with active and clear licenses in both California and Arizona. This contract-to-hire role offers a unique opportunity for newer pharmacists to gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and non-sterile compounding within a supportive environment. The position begins with a four-day workweek and has the potential to move to a full five-day schedule for the right candidate.

Location: Tempe, AZ
Schedule: Full-Time, 32 Hours/Week
Days: Monday – Thursday
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible within set hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow, productivity, and compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations
  • Supervise, mentor, and support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, offering performance feedback and ongoing training
  • Review, verify, and approve prescription orders for accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and regulatory compliance before dispensing
  • Maintain compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations, company policies, quality standards, and documentation requirements
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to ensure optimal operational efficiency and service quality
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify operational improvements and implement process enhancements to uphold patient care and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in non-sterile compounding as needed, with training provided
  • Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active, clear California and Arizona Pharmacist licenses (dual licensure required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience; mail order, long-term care, or 503A compounding experience preferred
  • Non-sterile compounding experience strongly preferred but not mandatory
  • Pharmacy management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to commit to full-time work schedule
