Join a healthcare setting focused on Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy services, working as a Staff Pharmacist for an 8-week contract in Reno, NV. You will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive appropriate medication while supporting overall health management.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Shifts: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm or 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Rotating every other Saturday
  • Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication use to ensure compliance and detect over-usage.
  • Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate and legally dispensed.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy documentation.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
  • Offer consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs, including storage and dosage.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring.
  • Educate patients on using medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory effectively.
  • Identify drug-related issues and communicate with physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and interns.
  • Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Nevada Pharmacy license.
  • Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy is highly advantageous.
