This role offers an opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic home infusion environment. The position is a 10-week contract, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional extended hours until 7:00 PM based on business needs.

Location: Elizabeth, NJ
Schedule:

  • Days, Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (may extend to 7:00 PM)
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform final checks, lab reviews, documentation, and other pharmacist duties; prescription processing will not be required.
  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and legally.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect patterns of overuse.
  • Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and compliant with regulations.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files meticulously.
  • Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
  • Identify drug-related problems and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Active New Jersey pharmacy license.
  • Experience in home infusion or hospital pharmacy settings.
  • Sterile compounding experience is highly desirable.
