Interim Director of Pharmacy - Sacramento
Soliant Health is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership coverage for a behavioral health hospital in Sacramento. This is an approximately 8 to 12 week assignment with the potential for weekend coverage and on-call responsibilities.
Position Details
Title: Interim Director of Pharmacy / PIC
Location: Sacramento, CA
Start Date: By October 5, 2026
Duration: Approximately 8 to 12 weeks
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Pharmacy Hours: 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Weekend Coverage: May be needed, approximately 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
On-Call: Required when the pharmacy is closed
Setting: Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Hospital
Licensed Beds: 125
Average Daily Census: Approximately 120

Responsibilities
The Interim DOP will provide pharmacy leadership for two facilities, overseeing daily operations and ensuring continuity of pharmacy services. Responsibilities include:
Provide Director of Pharmacy and PIC leadership
Manage staffing and scheduling across both facilities
Supervise pharmacy staff and support staff
Ensure appropriate pharmacy coverage and continuity of operations
Participate in pharmacy and hospital committee activities
Support regulatory and compliance requirements
Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations
Provide on-call coverage when the pharmacy is closed
Requirements
Active California Pharmacist License required
Previous pharmacy management or leadership experience required
Hospital experience preferred, but not mandatory for the right candidate
Strong staffing, scheduling, and team management experience
Ability to oversee pharmacy operations across two facilities
Comfortable taking on interim DOP/PIC responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations
Staff: 2 technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists
Technician Support: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Order Entry: HCS, training provided
Automation: None currently
