A contract-to-hire opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding within a home infusion environment. This role is based in Broken Arrow, OK, offering a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for a 13-week duration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Verify the appropriateness of prescribed medications for individual patients.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Provide counseling to patients on medication use, potential side effects, and answer their questions.
  • Offer consultation on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, covering storage, dosage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal or external use, preparing sterile solutions according to established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Manage inventory for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, addressing drug-related issues with healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to optimize patient care.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Current Oklahoma pharmacy license is mandatory.
  • Experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
  • Preferably experienced in sterile compounding techniques.
  • Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
