A critical access hospital with a 25-bed capacity (average daily census of 10 beds) is seeking an experienced pharmacist to serve as a working Director of Pharmacy. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers weekday day shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no on-call responsibilities, allowing for a balanced work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy and staff pharmacist, managing pharmacy operations in an inpatient setting
  • Oversee and support pharmacy staff, including two daily pharmacy technicians
  • Handle sterile compounding duties as needed, ensuring compliance with USP 797 clean room guidelines
  • Review and verify intravenous (IV) medications prepared by pharmacy technicians
  • Maintain pharmacy workflow and order entry using Cerner; utilize Omnicell automation systems
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Oregon pharmacist license
  • Proven inpatient pharmacy experience in a hospital environment
  • Demonstrated pharmacy management experience, preferably as a pharmacy manager or director
  • Familiarity with sterile compounding and USP 797 compliance for cleanroom standards
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • No on-call or weekend shifts
