This role offers an opportunity to utilize specialized pharmacy technician skills within a home infusion environment, providing essential sterile compounding and clinical support under pharmacist supervision. The position demands strict adherence to regulatory standards to ensure patient safety and high-quality medication preparation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sterile IV and infused medications following USP 797, USP 800, and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Maintain communication with pharmacy, nursing, and reimbursement teams, managing customer inquiries and clinical data.
  • Accurately enter patient and prescription information into pharmacy software while complying with regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of the clean room according to company policy and regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manage receipt, storage, picking, and packaging of medications and supplies for shipment.
  • Conduct inventory counts and support formulary management.
  • Stay current with continuing education and maintain all necessary licensure and certifications.
  • Obtain additional state licensure/registration as needed to support regional operations.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience in an infusion setting preferred; experience as an IV hospital technician will be considered.
  • Current and valid pharmacy technician license in New York.
  • Current PTCB certification in good standing.
  • Understanding of USP 797 and USP 800 standards and other relevant state pharmacy regulations.
  • Proficient with CareTend pharmacy system or similar software.
