Home Infusion Clinical Pharmacist | Cambridge, Massachusetts
A healthcare facility specializing in home infusion services is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy support for patients requiring acute and chronic infusion therapies. This contract position is based onsite in Cambridge, MA, focusing on safe and effective medication use and infusion management.
Responsibilities include:
• Evaluating and processing physician orders while verifying insurance benefits
• Performing sterile compounding and supporting cleanroom operations in adherence to USP 797 standards
• Dispensing medications and infusion supplies accurately and safely
• Maintaining patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Managing assigned patient caseloads and providing pharmacist coverage as needed
Schedule:
• Initial 4-8 days of training on the electronic medical records system
• Regular commitment of 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Additional PRN coverage needed on July 6-10 and July 13-17
• Shifts are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, onsite
Qualifications:
• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum of 1+ year pharmacy experience required; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding highly desired
• Solid knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking abilities
This role offers the opportunity to contribute clinical pharmacy expertise in a specialized home infusion environment while working on a flexible PRN schedule. Qualified candidates with infusion and sterile compounding experience are encouraged to apply for this contract assignment.
