This telehealth position offers an opportunity for a pharmacist skilled in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and managed care to provide vital consulting services remotely. The role requires a multi-state licensed pharmacist with a focus on patient care, utilization management, and collaboration with healthcare providers.

Location: Remote (with Louisiana as the hub for additional onsite opportunities)

Schedule: 13-week contract assignments, with multiple onboarding periods throughout the year (November-January/February, April, May, and July). Extensions are possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual patient consultations including Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) and Targeted Medication Reviews (TMRs) via telephone or video.
  • Address side effects, answer therapy-related questions, and promote medication adherence.
  • Evaluate prior authorization requests and formulary exceptions for clinical appropriateness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with prescribers to recommend cost-effective, formulary-aligned alternatives as needed.
  • Proactively identify and reach out to members with gaps in care to optimize therapy outcomes.
  • Support formulary management by translating clinical guidelines into claim adjudication rules.
  • Ensure all telepharmacy activities comply with HIPAA, state regulations, and client contracts.
  • Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in one or more states; multi-state licensure greatly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in clinical pharmacy, preferably with managed care, PBM, or telehealth experience.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in chronic disease management, drug utilization review, and formulary navigation.
  • Comfortable using telehealth technology, electronic health records, and claims processing platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction and provider collaboration.
  • Ideal candidates hold licenses in multiple states, including Louisiana, which offers guaranteed additional work through the regional hub. States of interest include Alaska, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
