We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director for a 13-week contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing 503A sterile compounding pharmacy. This leadership role is ideal for a pharmacist with extensive sterile compounding experience and a strong background in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations.

As the PIC, you will oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while leading a high-performing team dedicated to patient safety and quality.

Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Occasional Saturdays as business needs require


Key Responsibilities
Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for pharmacy operations.
Provide leadership and oversight of sterile and non-sterile compounding services.
Ensure compliance with USP <795>, USP <797>, USP <800>, FDA 503A, and all applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Act as the primary contact during Board of Pharmacy inspections, regulatory audits, and accreditation reviews.
Oversee quality assurance programs, environmental monitoring, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, pharmacy technicians, and production personnel.
Review and approve batch records, compounding documentation, and quality control processes.
Partner with leadership on production scheduling, inventory management, workflow optimization, and capacity planning.
Maintain pharmacy readiness for inspections and ensure ongoing compliance across all operations.
Develop and mentor pharmacy staff while promoting a culture of quality, safety, and accountability.


Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), Pharmacy Director, or Pharmacy Manager
Strong leadership experience in a 503A compounding pharmacy or sterile compounding environment
Comprehensive knowledge of USP <795>, USP <797>, USP <800>, FDA 503A regulations, and state/federal pharmacy compliance requirements
Proven experience leading regulatory inspections, audits, and quality assurance initiatives
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills


Compensation
Up to $70/hour
13-week contract with strong potential for permanent hire
