An opening opportunity is available for a Clinical Infusion Pharmacist in Overland Park, KS. This direct hire position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CST on Fridays, including participation in an on-call rotation as determined by pharmacy leadership. The role utilizes the CareTend system to manage pharmacy operations efficiently.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and verifying prescriptions to ensure accuracy, safety, clinical appropriateness, and compliance with regulations. You will provide specialty medication counseling, monitor therapy effectiveness, and assist with clinical or patient care concerns. Collaboration with clinical, nursing, reimbursement, intake, and pharmacy teams is essential to facilitate seamless patient care. Additionally, the position requires overseeing pharmacy technicians, supporting training, quality control, compliance, and daily pharmacy operations. Participation in audits, accreditation processes, and quality improvement initiatives will be part of promoting patient safety and continuous enhancement of services.
Qualifications for this role require an active, unrestricted pharmacist license for Kansas and a strong understanding of specialty medications and specialty pharmacy operations. Preferred candidates will have three or more years of experience in Specialty, Infusion, Home Infusion, Retail, Community, Mail-Order, or Hospital Pharmacy settings. Familiarity with specialty therapy payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and contract obligations is valuable. Certification in Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and experience with CareTend or similar pharmacy management systems are also preferred. Additional pharmacist licenses from other states such as CA, TX, IL, VA, MD, WV, NV, TN, KY, MI, MA, OR, OK, and ID are a plus.
