Clinical Pharmacist Orange, CA

RPh on the Go is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist for a 13-week contract-to-hire opportunity with a rapidly growing closed-door Home Infusion pharmacy in Orange, California.

This is a highly clinical position — not a production role. The ideal candidate will have strong recent experience managing TPN patients, sterile compounding, patient counseling, and collaborating with dietitians, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

Important Licensing Requirement: Candidates who are already licensed in Mississippi (MS) and Alabama (AL) are highly preferred. Candidates who are not currently licensed in MS/AL must be willing to immediately obtain these licenses.

Position Details
Location: Orange, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Hours per week: 40
Pay: $75–$78/hour
Contract: 13 weeks, Temp-to-Perm
Direct Hire: Client will also consider direct-hire candidates

Responsibilities:
Clinically manage and monitor patients receiving TPN therapy
Review TPN formulations, laboratory results, therapy progress, and patient needs
Make appropriate clinical recommendations for patients transitioning from the hospital
Collaborate closely with dietitians, physicians, providers, and pharmacy staff
Provide comprehensive patient counseling and education regarding medications and infusion therapy
Oversee sterile compounding functions as needed
Ensure sterile preparations and pharmacy practices meet USP <797> standards
Communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical pharmacy team members
Serve as a clinical resource and demonstrate leadership within the pharmacy

Requirements:
2+ years of recent, strong sterile compounding and clinical pharmacy experience
Demonstrated experience clinically managing TPN patients
Strong understanding of TPN therapy and patient monitoring
Experience collaborating with dietitians, physicians, and other healthcare providers
Excellent patient counseling and clinical communication skills
Active, unrestricted California Pharmacist License
Ideally licensed in Mississippi and Alabama, OR willing to immediately obtain both licenses
Strong knowledge of USP <797> and sterile pharmacy practices
Home Infusion experience strongly preferred

This position requires more than TPN compounding experience. The ideal candidate must be comfortable clinically managing TPN patients, discussing therapy with providers and dietitians, reviewing patient information, counseling patients, and making appropriate clinical recommendations.
