Position: Clinical Pharmacist Operations Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Operations Specialist to oversee specialty operational areas within the hospital pharmacy department while also providing pharmaceutical care to patients as needed.
This role will serve as a subject matter expert within assigned operational areas, supporting pharmacy technology, processes, training, and compliance while helping ensure policies and procedures are properly implemented and followed.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of specialty pharmacy practice areas, which may include the IV room, diversion/narcotics management, informatics, residency programs, and other operational areas.
Provide pharmaceutical care to patients as needed in a staff pharmacist capacity.
Provide user support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for pharmacy systems and technology.
Help develop, implement, document, and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures.
Coordinate upgrade testing, education, and implementation activities.
Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned operational specialty areas.
Coordinate and provide training as needed.
Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and/or residents.
Requirements
B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
One of the following experience pathways:
PGY-1 residency/fellowship and PGY-2 specialty residency/fellowship in an appropriate specialty field; or
PGY-1 residency/fellowship and 3+ years of clinical pharmacy experience; or
5+ years of clinical pharmacy experience without residency/fellowship experience.
Active Oklahoma pharmacist license in good standing.
Any other applicable state requirements, including sterile compounding requirements as applicable.
BLS certification.
ALS/ACLS certification.
Preferred
PharmD from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification applicable to the specialty practice area.
Other nationally recognized training or certification relevant to the specialty practice area.
