Staff Pharmacist in Denver, CO
A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a busy pharmacy setting in Denver, CO. This 13-week contract role offers a pathway to full-time employment based on performance. Flexibility is essential due to variable shift hours, including days and evenings, as well as rotating weekends.
Responsibilities include accurately accepting and dispensing prescription medications while monitoring patient medication compliance. The pharmacist will ensure medications prescribed and supplied comply with legal requirements and are suitable for patients. Maintaining confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision is required. Patient consultations on medication usage, side effects, drug interactions, and storage guidelines will form a significant part of the role. Additional services, such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurements, cholesterol management, and education on medical device use, will also be provided. Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions, adhering to strict procedures, is expected. Supervisory duties over pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, must be performed to ensure smooth operational workflow. Managing pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory and proactively identifying drug-related issues in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams completes the role’s scope.
