This interim Pharmacist in Charge opportunity offers a rewarding role overseeing pharmacy operations within a micro-hospital setting. Located in the Milwaukee area, this position provides coverage at a small facility featuring a 7-bed emergency department and an 8-bed inpatient unit. The pharmacist will assume sole PIC responsibilities in a focused setting, taking charge of audits, restocking, and maintaining regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Pharmacist in Charge for the facility, ensuring compliance and operational excellence
  • Manage pharmacy functions in alignment with clinical protocols and facility needs
  • Conduct routine audits and oversee medication inventory restocking
  • Provide on-call support as needed during the contract period
  • Collaborate remotely with the local PIC and Pharmacy Director for guidance and support
  • Utilize Epic for order entry and Omnicell for medication automation management
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Wisconsin pharmacist license is mandatory
  • Proven inpatient pharmacy experience required to meet facility needs
  • Previous PIC experience highly preferred, especially in hospital or micro-hospital settings
  • Familiarity with Epic and Omnicell systems is strongly desired
  • Ability to work independently managing all pharmacy functions as the sole staff pharmacist
  • Schedule:

  • Day shift, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
  • No weekend coverage required, but on-call duties are part of the role
  • This contract assignment is expected to last approximately 2 to 3 months with an immediate start date. Remote training and ongoing support will be provided by current leadership to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
