A direct hire opportunity is available for a dedicated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead the pharmacy operations of a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) facility in Lexington, KY. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the pharmacy functions reliably and compliantly, with an emphasis on strong attendance and dependability.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records for prescription orders, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures for operational safety and efficiency.
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff through performance evaluations, training, and guidance.
  • Manage medication inventory levels to balance availability with minimization of waste.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and insurance providers to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and timely solutions.
  • Stay current on industry updates, new medications, and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license required.
  • 2–4 years of LTC pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
  • Recent pharmacy management experience, ideally within LTC settings.
  • Experience or willingness to be trained on the Frameworks software system.
  • Exceptional reliability and strong attendance record are crucial for success.
