A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available on a contract basis in Glenwood Springs, CO, beginning ASAP with an assignment projected through mid-August 2026. This role supports a facility transitioning its electronic medical records from Meditech to Epic, so Epic experience is essential, and Meditech exposure is advantageous.

Schedule and Shift Details:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Rotating day/evening shifts starting at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
  • Rotating weekends with shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately and safely per physician instructions
  • Maintain medication stock in patient care areas ensuring availability and compliance
  • Interpret and transcribe medication orders into computerized profiles
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and proper dosing
  • Review culture and sensitivity data to guide appropriate antibiotic use
  • Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly
  • Provide clinical consultation and suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives
  • Document clinical activities thoroughly and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a member of the Code Response Team
  • Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Required seasonal flu vaccine (October 1 – April 1), no exemptions accepted
  • Must have Epic system experience; Meditech training is a plus
