A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a skilled Compounding Pharmacy Technician to support their high-volume, production-driven environment on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician experienced in non-sterile compounding who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is eager to contribute to quality animal healthcare.

    • Responsibilities

  • Prepare and compound veterinary medications, focusing on non-sterile preparations with occasional sterile compounding
  • Package, label, and prepare prescriptions for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain compounding equipment and work areas following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist pharmacists with daily workflow and production demands
  • Adhere strictly to pharmacy procedures and quality assurance standards
  • Document activities accurately and assist with inventory management
  • Support efficient operation of a pharmacy processing over 200 prescriptions daily

    • Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration or certification meeting state requirements
  • Proven experience in a compounding pharmacy, particularly non-sterile compounding
  • Sterile compounding experience is preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is preferred but not mandatory
  • Veterinary or animal compounding experience is an advantage but not required
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs meticulously
  • Capability to succeed in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and consistently strong work ethic

  • Collaborative team including 4 pharmacists and multiple technicians
  • Use of PK Software and QuickBooks Online, transitioning soon to Pharmetica
  • Fast-paced, volume-driven veterinary compounding pharmacy
