Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Flemington, NJ

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a full-time, permanent opportunity with a respected inpatient hospital in Flemington, New Jersey. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative pharmacy team while supporting patient care across a variety of hospital departments and patient populations.

Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will provide technical support to the Department of Pharmaceutical Services and assist with the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

Prepare, label, dispense, and distribute medications under pharmacist supervision
Assist with sterile and non-sterile medication preparation
Prepare IV admixtures and compounded sterile products as assigned
Maintain medication inventory and stock automated dispensing cabinets
Refill and troubleshoot Pyxis and Omnicell systems
Ensure accurate medication distribution throughout the hospital
Support pharmacy operations serving neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, USP standards, and medication safety practices
Assist with medication storage inspections, inventory management, and quality assurance activities
Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to medication preparation and distribution

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Active New Jersey Pharmacy Technician Registration or ability to obtain quickly
National Certification through PTCB or NHA
Minimum of 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
Experience with IV preparation and sterile compounding
Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work variable shifts and rotating weekends

Preferred Qualifications

IV / Sterile Compounding Certification
Experience with Pyxis and Omnicell automation systems
Experience working in an acute care hospital environment
