A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available in home infusion pharmacy services specializing in IV and infusion therapies for patients with acute and chronic conditions. This PRN role supports clinical pharmacy operations on a recurring basis, providing essential expertise in medication management and sterile compounding.

Location: Cambridge, MA
Job Type: Contract
Schedule/Hours:

  • Initial 4-8 days of training on the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional ongoing PRN coverage as needed, including July 6-10 and July 13-17
  • Shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, onsite
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders and verify insurance benefits to ensure accurate medication dispensing
  • Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations in compliance with USP 797 standards
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records according to federal and state regulations
  • Communicate effectively with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians and nurses
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for colleagues when needed
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with infusion therapy and/or sterile compounding preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Strong skills in communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking
