Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Travel Oncology Pharmacist to join a dynamic team in Berkshire, MA. This position is ideal for someone with extensive acute care and oncology experience who can make an immediate impact in an oncology and infusion center setting.
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Monday – Friday, Day Shifts
Duration: 13 Weeks (Option to Temp-to-Hire)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient therapy for appropriateness, incorporating age-specific modifications, and making clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events.
  • Conduct clinical research and lead professional development programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to other departments within the Cancer and Infusion Center, providing operational support and education on new treatment regimens.
  • Supervise Pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices for the preparation of intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and sterile products.
  • Maintain, store, and manage adequate inventory of all medications required for oncology practice.
  • Develop and update departmental and nursing policies to reflect best practices.
  • Collaborate with the oncology team to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic medications.

    Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: 5+ years of acute care clinical experience, including oncology pharmacy practice.
  • Required Skills: Ability to mix compounds is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology, Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP).
  • Must be able to work independently within established policies and supervise pharmacy support personnel.
  • Specialty pharmacy medication management experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation for the assignment.
