Pharmacy Technician - Contract Role in Roanoke, VA
Join a dedicated pharmacy team in Roanoke, VA for a 13-week contract opportunity with potential for temp-to-hire. This full-time, weekday role is ideal for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced setting.
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Type: 13-week Contract (Temp-to-Hire potential)
Start: ASAP (1.5–2 weeks after offer)
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process prescriptions and manage third-party insurance claims
Package and label medications for pharmacist verification
Perform data entry and maintain prescription documentation
Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and prescribers
Maintain inventory levels through cycle counts and restocking
Support return processing, quarantine procedures, and medication disposal
Cross-train and assist in various pharmacy operations as needed
Adhere to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and all compliance protocols
Requirements:
Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician License (in good standing)
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
Strong communication, multitasking, and time management skills
Prior experience in a call center or high-volume environment is a must
