Pharmacist Job Specialty Fairfield, OH

1st Shift: Functions similarly to a traditional retail pharmacy.

2nd Shift: Hybrid workflow – first half mirrors retail pharmacy, second half operates as a closed-door mail order facility.

Key Responsibilities:

1st & 2nd Shift Pharmacists:

Lead start-of-shift huddles in the absence of a Lead Technician.

Act as a resource for pharmacy technicians, assisting with problem-solving and task delegation.

Perform pre-checks (PV1) of prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.

Conduct final verification (PV2) of filled prescriptions according to legal and professional standards.

Provide medication counseling to patients, ensuring proper use, dosage, and awareness of side effects.

Train and mentor new team members, offering feedback and guidance.

Oversee end-of-shift preparations, ensuring the workspace is organized for the incoming team.

Administrative Duties:

Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and patient profiles.

Manage inventory, ensuring proper storage and security of medications.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies.

Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with healthcare laws.

Research & Professional Development:

Stay up to date on new medications, treatments, and industry advancements.

Engage in continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance clinical expertise.

Serve as a mentor to pharmacy students and residents.

Qualifications:

Active and Clear Ohio Pharmacist License

PharmD degree from an accredited institution

Experience in retail, mail order, or hybrid pharmacy settings is preferred

Strong leadership and communication skills

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving pharmacy environment
