This role is built for the pharmacist who’s already thinking several moves ahead—clinically sharp, operationally seasoned, and confident navigating the complex world of multistate sterile compounding. If you’ve got leadership experience in LTC, hospital, or specialty settings and you're already licensed in multiple states (or ready to be), this is the kind of PIC role that gives you both authority and impact.


Position Overview

  • Title: Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) 

  • Summary: Lead from the front in a high-acuity, sterile compounding environment that spans multiple states. You'll oversee compliance, clinical quality, and daily pharmacy operations, with a strong emphasis on USP <797>/<800> standards and multi-state regulatory alignment. Infusion experience is preferred, but demonstrated excellence in clinical pharmacy and leadership is what really matters here.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday | Day Shift

    Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for a multistate sterile compounding operation

  • Oversee daily sterile compounding and ensure strict adherence to USP <797>/<800>

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing pharmacy team

  • Coordinate licensure, inspections, and operations across multiple states

  • Lead internal audits, compliance initiatives, and quality improvement strategies

  • Ensure seamless operations for LTC, hospital, and specialty pharmacy clients


    Ideal Candidate

  • Licensed in at least 4 of the following states: AL, AK, AR, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MS, NE, OH, OK, OR, TN, TX, VA, WV

  • Actively willing and able to pursue licensure in additional states

  • Experienced in sterile compounding and/or infusion pharmacy

  • Has a background in clinical pharmacy across LTC, hospital, or specialty settings

  • Comfortable in a high-responsibility leadership role with regulatory oversight


    Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited institution

  • Texas Pharmacist License in good standing

  • 3–5+ years of experience in sterile compounding or hospital/specialty settings

  • Prior PIC, pharmacy management, or leadership experience (required)

  • In-depth knowledge of USP <797> and <800> standards

  • Experience with multi-state pharmacy operations and inspections

  • Strong communication, team leadership, and organizational skills
