RPh on the go is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacist this assignment can be PRN or 40 hours.

Shift: Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm Sat. Sunday 10am to 4pm

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medication Dispensing and Management:

  2. Accurately review and dispense prescription medications to patients.
  3. Verify medication orders for correctness, including dosage, interactions, and contraindications.
  4. Provide medication therapy management, including assessing patient needs and adjusting therapies as necessary.
  5. Patient Education and Counseling:

  6. Educate patients about their medications, including proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions with other drugs or foods.
  7. Address patient questions and concerns regarding their health and medications.
  8. Offer advice on over-the-counter (OTC) products and general health and wellness.
  9. Collaborative Care:

  10. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication regimens.
  11. Participate in patient care team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
  12. Administrative Duties:

  13. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and medication profiles.
  14. Process and verify insurance claims and handle medication-related billing issues.
  15. Manage and oversee the pharmacy’s inventory, including ordering, stocking, and ensuring proper storage of medications.
  16. Regulatory Compliance:

  17. Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the dispensing of medications and pharmacy operations.
  18. Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and standards, including proper documentation and record-keeping.
  19. Quality Assurance:

  20. Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of medication dispensing processes.
  21. Implement and follow safety procedures to prevent medication errors and ensure patient safety.
  22. Patient Care and Advocacy:

  23. Advocate for patients' medication needs and provide personalized care.
  24. Monitor patient adherence to medication regimens and follow up as necessary to address non-compliance.


Duties:

  1. Dispensing Medications:

  2. Dispense prescription medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  3. Review prescription orders to verify appropriateness for the patient.
  4. Patient Counseling:

  5. Counsel patients on medication management, including dosage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
  6. Offer guidance on proper medication use.
  7. Medication Optimization:

  8. Manage medication therapy protocols.
  9. Participate in patient care management teams to optimize medication therapy.
  10. Supervision and Administration:

  11. Oversee pharmacy technicians and interns to ensure accurate prescription preparation and dispensing.

 


Requirements
NM Pharmacist license
1+ year or more of recent experience
Available to work full time and then cover all call out, vacations and holidays
