LTC Staff Pharmacist (2nd Shift) - Albuquerque, NM
We are currently seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment in Albuquerque, NM. This role has the potential to convert to a permanent position based on performance and business needs. Ideal for pharmacists looking for steady evening work in a closed-door pharmacy environment.
Position Details:
Start Date: July 21
End Date: October 20
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Weekends: Rotating
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Pay Rate: $60+ / hour
Key Responsibilities:
Dispense and verify prescription medications
Monitor medication adherence and identify overuse
Ensure legal and clinical compliance with all prescriptions
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and interactions
Provide consultations on both prescription and OTC medications
Offer patient services such as smoking cessation and chronic condition monitoring
Educate patients on medical device usage (e.g., glucose monitors, BP cuffs)
Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and interns
Manage inventory and pharmaceutical supplies
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements:
Active New Mexico Pharmacist License (must be in-hand)
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
Previous experience in long-term care or closed-door settings preferred
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage a team during evening hours
