We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Travel Pharmacist to join a leading acute care facility in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a 13-week contract position with the possibility of extension. The pharmacist will be responsible for providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to inpatient populations. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of current inpatient pharmacy experience and be licensed to practice in North Carolina.

Job Title: Inpatient Travel Pharmacist
Location: Asheville, NC
Shift: Variable day/afternoon shifts
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to hospitalized patients, ensuring optimal medication therapy management.
  • Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness, drug interactions, allergies, and dosing.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to make recommendations on drug therapy and dosage adjustments.
  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and standards.
  • Monitor patients for adverse effects and therapeutic efficacy, adjusting therapy as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, providing expertise on medication therapy and patient care.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of hospital policies, including formulary management.

    Requirements:

  • Active North Carolina Pharmacist License required.
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with variable shifts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on patient care.
  • Must be adaptable and able to work variable shifts, including days and afternoons.
  • Knowledge of hospital pharmacy practices and protocols, including inpatient medication dispensing, clinical decision-making, and pharmacy regulations.
