We are seeking a skilled Travel Pharmacy Technician for an exciting 13-week assignment in Mishawaka, IN, with the potential for extension. This is a fantastic opportunity for pharmacy technicians looking to expand their expertise in an inpatient hospital environment. In this position, you'll gain valuable experience in both sterile and non-sterile compounding, oversee Pyxis restocks, manage pharmacy inquiries, and collaborate with a committed healthcare team to provide outstanding patient care.

Job Title: Travel Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient – Mishawaka, IN

Location: Mishawaka, Indiana

Assignment Duration: 13-Week Assignment (Option to Extend)

Schedule: Day Shifts – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Facility Setting: Inpatient Hospital

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sterile Compounding: Prepare and compound sterile medications, including IVs and chemotherapy preparations, in compliance with hospital standards and safety protocols.
  • Non-Sterile Compounding: Prepare non-sterile medications as per physician orders, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Pyxis Restocks: Maintain inventory by restocking Pyxis machines with medications, ensuring timely replenishment and accurate counts.
  • Pharmacy Support: Field calls from nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring medication needs are met.
  • Medication Distribution: Assist in preparing and dispensing medications as prescribed, following strict medication safety protocols.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare providers to ensure the accurate and safe administration of medications to patients.

    Ideal Candidate:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with an active Indiana Pharmacy Technician License or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience, especially in sterile and non-sterile compounding.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including experience with Pyxis or similar automated medication systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals and field calls efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
