Full-Time Pharmacy Technician (Specialty Pharmacy) - Austin, TX
We are seeking a Texas licensed Pharmacy Technician to join a specialty pharmacy in Austin. The position is full-time 13-week contract assignment with the opportunity for direct hire, based on performance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring medications are accurately prepared and dispensed while interacting with patients and healthcare providers to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
Pharmacy Hours:
• Monday, Tuesday, & Friday: 9 AM - 5:30 PM
• Wednesday & Thursday: 9 AM - 8:30 PM
• Saturday: 9 AM - 1 PM
Note: Some travel to support other Austin pharmacy locations may be required.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare medications by counting, pouring, mixing, and packaging pharmaceuticals.
• Label containers and enter prescription information into the system.
• Verify insurance benefits and process transactions at the Point of Sale (POS).
• Interact with patients, case managers, and insurance companies to maintain positive relationships.
• Coordinate prescription deliveries and manage routine reports and correspondence.
• Resolve issues proactively and align with the pharmacy’s core values and goals.
• Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED; an associate’s degree or higher in a health-related field is preferred.
• One or more years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Registered with the Board of Pharmacy (BOP) in Texas and certified as a pharmacy technician.
• National Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Strong MS Office skills and experience with pharmacy software are preferred.
• Reliable transportation and a positive, flexible attitude.
