POSITION OVERVIEW

As Director of Pharmacy, you will serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) while providing direct clinical services in this intimate healthcare setting. This leadership role combines strategic pharmacy management with daily operational responsibilities, offering a rewarding career opportunity for the right pharmacy professional.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive leadership for all pharmacy operations
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) with full regulatory accountability
  • Deliver direct patient care and medication management services
  • Supervise pharmacy technician staff
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Manage pharmacy inventory and budget
  • Implement and maintain medication safety protocols
  • Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
  • Respond to on-call responsibilities for after-hours consultation

    WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • On-call responsibilities required
  • Possibility of remote pharmacy services implementation for nights/weekend coverage

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Louisiana pharmacist license in good standing
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Strong understanding of critical access hospital operations
  • Experience with medication safety and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Electronic health record proficiency
  • Understanding of rural healthcare challenges and opportunities

    THE IDEAL SETTING

    This Critical Access Hospital maintains a low daily census of 2-5 patients, allowing for personalized patient care and close professional relationships. You will lead a focused pharmacy team consisting of one pharmacist (yourself) and one pharmacy technician, providing essential services to the Bunkie community.
