Position Summary:

The Pharmacist in Charge will oversee all sterile compounding operations and ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements including USP 797, cGMP, FDA, BOP, and PCAB standards. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance day-to-day production oversight with regulatory alignment, team mentorship, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise all compounding operations to ensure compliance with USP 797, cGMP, FDA, PCAB, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.

  • Ensure active licensure in New Jersey and secure/maintain licensure in multiple other states as required.

  • Provide regulatory oversight by monitoring and interpreting changes from all relevant federal and state regulatory bodies.

  • Develop and implement policies to support 503B product development and manufacturing compliance.

  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to manage production and inventory, including Beyond-Use-Date (BUD) stock.

  • Participate in investigations of non-conformances and implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) plans.

  • Oversee and contribute to drafting and updating batch records, SOPs, and validation protocols.

  • Provide expert guidance during audits, regulatory inspections, and accreditation processes.

  • Train and mentor staff, cultivating a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and accountability.

  • Lead product trend analysis and help identify new compoundable products aligned with regulatory frameworks.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

  • Active pharmacist licensure in the State of New Jersey.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain pharmacist licensure in multiple states including AL, AK, FL, ID, KS, MI, NV, NY, OH, OK, and VA.

  • Experience working as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or in a senior compounding leadership role.

  • Minimum of 503B compounding experience with strong knowledge of USP 797 standards and sterile compounding processes.

  • Familiarity with FDA inspections, DEA regulations, cGMP, and State Board of Pharmacy guidelines.

  • Previous experience in hospital, clinical, long-term care, or IV infusion pharmacy settings.

  • Expertise in managing compounding tools, aseptic garbing/gowning, and cleanroom environments.
