Job Title: Retail / Long-Term Care Pharmacist
Location: Vinton/Roanoke, VA (approximately 50 miles west of Charleston, WV)
Duration: 13-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire

Shift Details:

  • Evening Shift: 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM, 7 days on / 7 days off
  • Day Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM

    Position Summary:

    The Retail / Long-Term Care Pharmacist is responsible for managing pharmacy operations, including dispensing medications, supervising pharmacy technicians, and providing exceptional patient care. This role requires a high level of accuracy and the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Prescription Management:
  • Check and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy.
  • Dispense medications and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
  • Supervision:
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient and accurate operation of the pharmacy.
  • Provide guidance and support to pharmacy staff as needed.
  • Patient Interaction:
  • Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and interactions.
  • Educate patients and answer their medication-related questions.
  • Pharmacy Operations:
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure timely ordering and stocking of medications.
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards.
  • Implement and follow quality control and assurance protocols.

    Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience:
  • Strong background in retail pharmacy is required.
  • Long-Term Care (LTC) experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume pharmacy environment effectively.
  • Licensure:
  • Must hold an active Virginia Pharmacist License (VA).
